11 days to go...
An important part of my getting ready for Israel is studying my Bible. I have 2 goals prior to arriving: read through Genesis again and go through Matthew again.
I recently graduated with a one-year Christian Certificate from Heritage College and Seminary in Cambridge. I learned so much while I was there and really dug deep into my Bible. I miss that. Somehow when you don't have deadlines "life" gets in the way.
One of the many great things I learned from my studies at Heritage was more about the geography and even topography of the land of the Bible. By re-reading Genesis I think I will be transported back to my studies and, therefore, have a better overview of some of the places where Abraham and the other patriarchs lived and better enjoy them when I see them in person.
Obviously Matthew will get me excited about some of the sites I will see that involved Jesus' time on earth and this will bring those parts of the Bible alive when I see them while I'm away.
Daily devotions are important but I really hope they stir my heart for what is coming on my trip to Israel.
